Ron has a version of 2.5 that is currently working. So maybe he can post a copy of his YaBB.pl for you to look at.

Sadly it's not working anymore

Thanks Smiley  I managed to find a friend that knew a lot more about this stuff than I could ever hope to and he managed to change some things and get it back up and running for me using a combination of all the different solutions in posts here and some fairy dust.  All good now!

Over time Perl had deprecated insecure and at risk code. I no longer have the ability to test Perl code and I don't have access to a copy of YaBB.pl 2.5AE

However what has happened is Perl no longer automatically recognizes the location of the file it's executing as its 'script_root'. That has to be set explicitly.

Ron has a version of 2.5 that is currently working. So maybe he can post a copy of his YaBB.pl for you to look at.

Old Yabb board (2.5 AE) broken by perl (I think)

Ok this is a long shot, but you never know unless you ask, right? ^^

I've had an old Yabb board (2.5 AE Rev 1.23) running since forever ago.  We don't technically use it anymore except for references and nostalgia but now I get an internal 500 error when trying to access it.

My host told me this:

The error message suggests that the script is looking for Paths.pl in a directory that's not part of the current Perl include path (@INC). This could be due to a misconfiguration or missing file in the script environment.

He also showed me the log but unfortunately I cannot post that here since the link restriction is preventing it.

I have done a lot of trawling on google and in this forum and while I've seen another post that seemingly has mine or a similar issue, the fix suggested didn't seem to work for me, or I did it wrong.

I'm at my wits end trying to get this silly nostalgic site to load and I am not code savvy so I'm on the verge of giving up.  Is anyone able to help me get this working again?  Thanks in advance for any help.
