Okay. I'll set the spell checker.

As far as I know most of the current browsers have spell-check either integrated or as add-ons. There are come spell-check API's out there but the one's I've seen so far all require paymentof some sort.

I think so too. Maybe they've blocked some countries. An update they have been around forever are no longer made. I can not otherwise imagine why it no longer works.
Are there alternatives to googiespell?

SpellCheck works here and on YaBB Forum. (But I suspect we're going to lose GoogieSpell functionality in the not-so-distant future as that site is not being updated and doesn't have the currrent information on it. New installs from Orangoo.com based on their site info aren't going to work. At some point they're going to stop supporting it at all.)

Yes, I have. When YaBB 2.5.2 it worked so easily. Just not now. Is this a riddle.
I have no solution, I do not and my members complain. Especially those who were stupid in school.

That would be my guess. I assume you have Crypt::SSLeay installed. SpellChecker needs it to communicate with orangoo.com's server.

I have now tested it myself. Does neither in English nor in German. Neither on Chrome or IE No function, only an error message (Java script). But I see that it works here. Can lying on the module.
It looks almost as if we have been blocked by the server.

I just turned on GoogieSpell here and it appears to work in Deutsch and I know it works in English.
However, I have my doubts about FireFox's built-in spell-check. It sometimes fails to catch misspellings I know are wrong.

Please check times. The spell checker does not work and indeed in any language.
Complaint of members. I do not need it so, my brain is well developed.
I'm going one more round in my swimming pool and then to bed. It is midnight in Germany.

It's a holiday where I am, so I'll take care of the fixes tomorrow.

I made a spelling error, see code. German and German_Du is the same.
Code
'529' => 'Benutzer-Info-Stil:<br /><span class="small">Wenn diese Option aktiviert ist, werden Benutzerinfos links vom Beitrag wie in den vorherigen Versionen angezeigt. Wenn diese Option deaktiviert ist, werden die Benutzerinfos über jeden Beitrag im neuen Format angezeigt.</span>',
