One thing to look for is how well the senders and recipients are converted. I had issues with incoming PMs wrongly indicating the recipient to also be the sender, and with outgoing PMs wrongly indicating the sender to be the recipient. I thought I had this issue sorted, but it seems that the final version still had such problems, at least for some PMs.

Pretty much everything else seems to have carried over pretty well. Unfortunately, SMF doesn't have the equivalent of YaBB's highlight tag (of which I was fond), so highlighted text will simply become bold text in SMF. But the only big problem I'm having is the "Admin" function within my form produces the error above. The techs at Knownhost are looking into it if it is a migration problem but I don't think so? Any ideas how to resolve this? Thanks in advance. Place the directories in their proper place - yabbfiles on the same level as the cgi-bin and yabb2 inside the cgi-bin.

Make sure setup.pl, yabb.pl and admin.pl are CHMOdded to 755. Also Convert2x.pl
Run setup.pl - that will tell you what required Perl mods are missing.

Once Setup has successfully run, You should get a prompt to run the converter.

The converter as not been tested on the most recent Perl. If you get errors, save the error text and we can do fixes.

If your old forum was working you'd copy BoardConvert.pl into your OLD yabb2 folder and run it from there on your OLD forum to get a converted forum.control.

Since your old forum isn't working, you can't. Which means your boards may be messed up on converting. These CAN be fixed by hand.

Test Zone - ma guy https://yabbforumsoftware.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1730896298/0#0 YaBB Development & Mods/Test Zone https://yabbforumsoftware.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1730896298/0#0 no-email@yabbforumsoftware.com (Nahmeshalino) Wed, 6 Nov 2024 12:31:38 GMT hafa General Board - Problem with YaBB 2.5.2 Again https://yabbforumsoftware.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1728083209/1#1 YaBB Development & Mods/General Board https://yabbforumsoftware.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1728083209/1#1 no-email@yabbforumsoftware.com (RonS2) Tue, 8 Oct 2024 11:30:08 GMT Anybody have an idea what the problem may be? I reworked a forum some time ago. Unfortunately, the Unix timestep was not converted. The old forums still work with the date. YYYY.MM.DD. The new forums use the ten-digit Unix timestep. So a lot of rework is necessary. Since this forum is very large, it is a lot of work.
Here is the forum in question:

https://www.poemtrain2.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl

The timestep has to be done manually, however, otherwise all members are shown as ex-members.

Give me the link to your forum and I'll take a quick look at it.
