When you started a new post, or tried to modify an existing post, there was a box containing gifs for a bulleted list, that intruded into the edit box where you needed to type your post. You could still type your text to post or modify, and everything worked fine, but the intruding box covered up some of what you were typing. Pretty annoying. I ended up editing the PostBox.pm file, adding the dreaded to the div producing the intruding box, and it disappeared. Amateur hack, I know, but it worked. At this point, I'm more interested in salvaging a working forum I can archive than saving every bell and whistle the software offers. I don't know if any of this will be anything anyone needs, but if they do, here it is. I have double checked permissions but cant get past this error: Can't locate -default-Other.template at (cgi dir) yabb2-Sources-Subs.pm line 3003. I don't just believe it, I know it. YaBB 2.6.12 works with all Linux versions, best with Debian and Ubuntu. I can't say anything about other Linux versions or Microsoft Windows Server. You don't have to lose any mods either. As you probably noticed, JetLi deleted all board mods after his inglorious departure. So if you have any old mods that we're missing, post them here. Dandello will definitely adapt them if asked. It shouldn't be a problem. If you have any problems, I'm happy to take over the installation. I'm a professional when it comes to servers. And what I forgot is that if you have a V-server without root access, you won't be able to upgrade Perl. That requires root rights. That only works with a root server or dedicated server. Otherwise the provider would have to do it and they usually don't. A friend and I have created a sitemap generator for YaBB, which I will publish soon. It appears that after manual fixing I got it to work except for the board icons which simply refuse to appear (only standard folder icon). Creating a new board will give me all the necessary fields and create a new line in forum.control. But even clicking edit on that one shows me a boardscreen page with no fields to edit. A rough guess is that something was changed concerning the icons. But since there's no error message and since I was unable to find the handling of the boardscreen action I'm totally lost about fixing this crucial editing function. Hoping for any help from out there... thanks in advance.
