Actually although HTML5 natively supports video, YaBB 2.6.11 should not be asking for Flash. However, your browser might. In which case upgrading will do you no good since it's not a YaBB issue.

Without knowing what version of YaBB you're referring to, can't help. HTML5 natively supports YouTube.

Version of YaBB 2.6.11
Should I update the forum to version 2.7.0 to make YouTube work?

If you insert a link from YouTube, then instead of the video it says that the adobe flash player is no longer supported.
Is there a solution than to replace the adobe flash player?

I may need to look at a full backup of your forum to check if there are any code changes that may be keeping YaBB from properly recognizing media files. I know that YaBBForum (which is unmodded) doesn't appear to have any problems playing mp4 files.
