I just got a note from someone using MemberMap and according to them, you may now need to get an API key to get the maps.

Nope, that's not the problem. Oh well.

I dropped him a line on his forum about three days ago, but no sign of him so far. The last time he was in contact he indicated things were really busy, but we'll see what happens.

If I can't get it working, no huge deal ... like I said, nobody actually uses my forums anymore. Just trying for perfection, you know? 

I won't have a chance to look at this until early next week. (Maybe you can drop XTC a line and see if he has a solution.)

This used to work. It no longer does. Seems google has changed something in the way google maps works, which broke it, causing it to produce the following error. I get the impression it is probably a small thing ... but I know nothing about this kind of stuff.

I realize the original author is not around right now, but anyone else understand these things well enough to track down a fix?

Actually, it makes perfect sense - the ' mark is probably being used in the mod as a string marker. Change the ' in the text to a ' and you should be okay.  (The mod may need to be modified to make this substitution.)

Well, we deleted this member from our forum and we created it with a new username. Still the same problem!!!

It's very strange. We can add any other member but as soon as we enter this one then everything stop working.

So we still investigated.

We checked into the member variables file for saltwalterjeep and we changed his location to be something else and Boom! It work.
We put back his original location and it stop working.
It seem that we cannot have 'location',"Martha's Vineyard" as location. It did'nt like the " ' " sign.
 
If we put 'location',"Martha Vineyard" then it work.

I cannot explain it but it's like I understand it.

Ok, After playing with the membermap.db file by shorting it one by one I found that if I removed the member named:
"LBislander|41.393294288784865|-70.631103515625|6||us"
then I was able to show all members again!

So the member name screw it up!

Hey, it seem that member map stop showing the map and the member list if there is too many members.

I'm using beta 2 version.

If I load an old file "membermap.db" from variable which contain less then 12 members then everything is fine but If I load the same file with a lot more of members then the map and members list is not shown at all.

Any idea?

Also, it's not really a problem but we installed the member map mod and we noticed that if the Country is not set in the user CP, then a lot of map icon will appear under the Avatar member.
So if a member doesn't have is country set and make like 6 reply under one post then we will see 6 map icons under his Avatar.

Installed smoothly on my 2.6.11 forum, no problems in getting it installed or putting in the settings.

Slightly more confusing to pin oneself than in Carsten's mod, but since Carsten's mod may not be around anymore, a very nice replacement! Another one I think will grow on me.

Either you are doing some nice mod work, or I have some sort of fungus.
